Your new home cinema: The Formovie Theater Projector comes to the UK

The THEATER is a tri-laser ultra-short throw (UST) 4K projector by Formovie.  Although you may not be familiar with the brand Formovie, the manufacturers behind the THEATER are far from newcomers. A joint venture between Xiaomi Technology and Appotronics a company that makes the light engines used in some of the world’s top laser-based projectors, It is no wonder there has been a buzz around this UST projector.

Being one of the first projectors with Dolby Vision support, the home cinema community have been keen to see how this stacks up against other 4K projectors. In a recent UST Laser TV Showdown hosted by ProjectorCentral this projector came out on top, beating top projectors from LG, Hisense and Samsung which retail at twice the price. This projector scored top marks in colour accuracy, detail, contrast, tone mapping and black levels whilst in HDR mode. Not only that but it was the cheapest of the triple laser projectors tested.

There are a wide array of connection options on the reverse of the projector, including 3 HDMI 2.1 ports, 2 USB ports a LAN port and audio output via Optical or 3.5mm Jack.
